Description
This shade of yellow is sported by animals, fruits, and flowers. It can be found in many variations of nature, for instance, during Autumn when some green leaves turn into shades of yellow. Saffron yellow derives its name from its resemblance to the color of the tip of the saffron crocus thread, from which the spice saffron is derived. It is one of the oldest recorded color names, with its first use in English dating back to 1200.
